About the Artist

Kate Hartnell is a printmaker and illustrator originally from Nottingham but now living in Devon, England.

Her warm, illustrative designs often focus on the natural world, particularly flora and fauna.

Kate is a self-taught artist who has been drawing from a very young age. Her style is cartoonish and playful but based in realism.

She prefers the use of pencil and ink above all other mediums as it lends to the achromatic style she enjoys creating. This is what sparked her love of relief printmaking, as the carved lino creates line work in keeping with Kate’s illustrative style.
